Lu Ma Jiao Chi, often translated as the Prosperity-and-Horse Crossing, is a Zi Wei Dou Shu formation in which Lu and Tian Ma have a valid direct relationship. Lu may be Lu Cun, the star of stored resources, or Hua Lu, the transformation of opportunity and flow. Tian Ma means the Heavenly Horse and represents movement. Merely placing Lu in Wealth and Tian Ma in Travel does not establish the formation, because those two palaces are neither trinal nor opposite.
Verify the Meeting Before Interpreting Movement
The strongest version places Lu and Tian Ma together in one palace. Some schools also accept a direct trinal or opposite meeting within San Fang Si Zheng, the Three Directions and Four Correct Positions. State which standard is being used. After formation is confirmed, the focal palace shows what moves: a role in Career, money in Wealth, the person in Life, or outside markets in Travel.
Two Conditional Combinations
If Lu Cun and Tian Ma share a well-supported Career Palace and Wealth is stable, income may grow through logistics, field service, sales travel, implementation, or work across locations. If Hua Lu in Wealth directly trines Tian Ma in Life, while Career provides a repeatable service, movement may expand the client's reach and convert into revenue. If Hua Ji also burdens Wealth, the same activity may produce high billing but weak retention because travel, staffing, or collection costs absorb the gain.
Movement Must Complete a Commercial Loop
Lu Ma Jiao Chi is not a promise that every relocation makes money. The chart needs a practical route from motion to value: a contract, a product, a qualified service, a distribution channel, or access to a larger market. Life shows sustainable capacity, Career shows the operating role, and Wealth shows whether the return can be collected and kept. Real budgets and contracts remain more important than the formation name.
Chart-Reading Order
First identify whether the Lu is Lu Cun or Hua Lu. Second, locate Tian Ma and confirm a same-palace, trinal, or opposite relationship under the school being used. Third, name the focal palace and read its exact opposite and two trinal supports. Fourth, inspect Wealth for collection and retention, Career for delivery, and Life for stamina. Apply ten-year and annual cycles last, then describe what moves, what value is delivered, and what returns.
